Overview
The JoyNews Impact Makers Awards (JIMA) is an annual initiative by JoyNews, the English brand of The Multimedia Group Limited. It is dedicated to recognising and celebrating ordinary individuals making extraordinary contributions to their communities across Ghana. Since its inception in 2023, JIMA has spotlighted selfless acts that often go unnoticed, providing a platform to honour and amplify the efforts of these unsung heroes.
Twenty-one (31) individuals from over ten regions of Ghana have so far been honoured under the awards scheme. It is broadcast live on TV and Radio for two hours and scheduled for several repeat broadcasts throughout the year.
Objectives
- To honour individuals who are making extraordinary impacts in their local communities and are promoting social justice.
- To enhance the JoyNews brand and enforce the brand identity as strong, influential and market-leading.
- To strengthen and promote strategic partnerships between sponsors, advertisers, nominees and winners.

New Categories
- Disability Inclusion Champion Award – a strong social-justice narrative.
- Corporate Impact Partner Recognition – creating space to reward companies and institutions, not just individuals.
Nomination and Selection Process
Nominations are solicited from the public through multiple media platforms — TV, Radio, online and digital media — for a period of one month. Using defined criteria, the JoyNews Research Desk, News Editors and project team members review nominations and submit them to a team of external judges for the vetting and final selection of the best 10 nominees for the awards. The criteria used by both teams include impact, innovation, sustainability and level of impact.

We invite partners and sponsors to support this initiative through financial contributions, in-kind services, or collaborative promotions. Benefits include brand visibility across JoyNews platforms, acknowledgement during the event, and association with the JoyNews Impact Makers Awards.
