Senyo Success Gbormittah is a medical doctor in Ghana’s Bono East Region and Vice President of Operations at Hope for Ghana.

Impact & Achievements

Over the past eight years, he has worked with a dedicated team to lead practical, community-focused initiatives that improve access to healthcare, education, clean water, and livelihoods across several regions. During the COVID-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2021, Senyo and his team reached more than 42 communities and six schools. They distributed over 12,000 nose masks, hand sanitizers, and hand-washing stations, while also providing hygiene education and supplying essential items to more than 11 health facilities.

A key part of his work has been expanding access to healthcare through the National Health Insurance Scheme. Over six years, he has helped more than 40,000 people register or renew their membership, enabling them to access basic health services. His impact goes beyond health. Senyo has led the construction of five schools, four in the Volta Region and one currently underway in the Northern Region.

These schools are equipped with libraries, computer labs, solar power, and water treatment systems. He has also supported the development of additional libraries and computer labs in public schools and overseen the drilling of more than 120 boreholes across the Volta, Eastern, Bono East, Ahafo, and Northern Regions, providing clean water to thousands of households.

In addition, he has supported youth development by training over 40 young people through apprenticeship programs, helping them gain employable skills and reduce economic vulnerability. Through a sustained Mobile Medical Outreach program in the Bono East Region, which has run for the past three years, Senyo and his team continue to deliver health screenings, education, and emergency care to remote communities, with a strong focus on pregnant women and other vulnerable groups.
